Commitment to sustainable, responsible and safe tourism

The World Tourism Organization defines sustainable tourism as tourism that fully takes into account its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, serving the needs of visitors, industry, the environment and host communities.

The Spanish Association for Responsible, Safe and Sustainable Tourism was born in the spring of 2020 as a result of the reflection and commitment of a group of professionals in the Spanish tourism sector with the vocation of rethinking tourism development models in a way that can contribute to a more conscientious, committed and responsible tourism management, as well as with the determined commitment to design more respectful and inclusive models with the local resident communities

The world that we are now beginning to reactivate is not the same as we met in March 2020.

The importance of sustainable tourism is also highlighted in target 12b of the SDGs. which aims to "develop and implement tools to monitor the impacts of sustainable development for sustainable tourism that creates jobs and promotes local culture and products."
